A slot PLC is a PCI plug-in card for a PC. A slot PLC is used when a PLC is required for automation tasks, e.g. B. to enable fast and effective data transfer between the PLC and application software.

Features:

• Is independent of the PC's operating system ;
• does not fail if the PC fails (if supplied with external voltage and a backup battery);
• has interfaces for the control of sensors and actuators , e.g. B. Profibus or Multi Point Interface .
