SmartFTP is an FTP - and SFTP - Client for Microsoft Windows . The software provides a graphical user interface for the File Transfer Protocol . Both the usual client-server connections and server-to-server transfers via the File Exchange Protocol (FXP) are supported.
SmartFTP is free up to version number v3.0.1016.xx for non-commercial private use and for educational purposes - commercial users can test the tool for 30 days. From version number v3.0.1017.x, SmartFTP runs as a 30-day test version. SmartFTP can manage multiple simultaneous client-server connections (via FTP) and server-server connections (via FXP ). In addition, connections via SSL and TLS can be protected against unauthorized access.
The surface of SmartFTP default only supports the English language, but can through a separately available from 20 "Language Packs" ( Engl. Be extended language) to other languages, including to German. Since version 4.0 SmartFTP has an integrated text editor with syntax highlighting for HTML , PHP and other programming languages .
