List of cities in Haiti

This is a list of cities in Haiti .

By far the largest agglomeration in Haiti is Port-au-Prince with 2,759,991 inhabitants (2015 estimate). This means that around a quarter of the country's population is concentrated in the capital region.

The table lists the cities are listed, which had 2015 more than 10,000 inhabitants and in each results of the Census (Census) of 30 August 1982, a calculation for the 1 January 2005 and an official estimate for the year 2015 and the department to who owns the city. The population figures refer to the actual city without suburban settlements or rural areas.

administration

Each municipality in Haiti has a municipal council ( conseil municipal ), which is composed of three members. These are elected for four years by the residents of the municipality. At the head of the municipal council is a chairman who holds the title of mayor . The council is the executive body of the community.

The municipal assembly ( assemblée municipale ) supports the council in its work. Its members are also elected for four years.
