Nord-Est ( German  Northeast ) is a department in the northeast of Haiti . It covers an area of ​​1623  km² and has around 394,000 inhabitants (as of 2015). The capital is Fort-Liberté .

Level of circles

The northeast department is divided into four districts ( arrondissements ):

• Fort Liberté
• Ouanaminthe
• Trou-du-Nord
• Vallières

The circles include the following locations:

• Arrondissement de Fort-Liberté (3 municipalities):
  1. Fort-Liberté , a settlement founded by the Spanish in 1578 - Bayaha.
  2. Perches
  3. Ferrier
• Arrondissement d'Ouanaminthe (3 municipalities):
  1. Ouanaminthe
  2. Capotille
  3. Mont-Organé
• Arrondissement de Trou-du-Nord (4 municipalities):
  1. Trou-du-Nord
  2. Caracol
  3. Sainte-Suzanne
  4. Terrier rouge
• Arrondissement de Vallières (3 municipalities):
  1. Vallières
  2. Carice
  3. Mombin-Crochu
