Tabarre is a community in Haiti , located in the Ouest department and in the Port-au-Prince arrondissement . Tabarre was originally part of Port-au-Prince and later of Delmas . She separated from Delmas in 2002 during the second term of former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide .
With a population of 108,877 (2015 estimate), known as Tabarrois and Tabarroises, Tabarre is considered the trading city of Port-au-Prince and is part of the metropolitan area that forms around the capital, Port-au-Prince. The municipality of Tabarre is an important industrial and commercial center as it is a transit point for trade with the Dominican Republic . In the last ten years the community has urbanized and the agricultural area now only represents a small part of the area.
Toussaint Louverture International Airport is in the city. The city is also home to the Aristide Foundation for Democracy University and the United States Embassy .
