Miragoâne is a Haitian community in the Nippes department on the Tiburon Peninsula in Haiti . Miragoâne is its capital. It is mainly located on the north coast of the peninsula in southwest Hispaniola . Before the earthquake in 2010, Miragoâne had 89,202 inhabitants (2003). There is a freshwater lake one kilometer south of the city.
economy
Coffee, fruit and bauxite (until 1985 by Reynolds Metals ) were previously exported from the port and used goods from the USA were traded.
