The Tiburon Peninsula ( French Le Tiburon ) is the largest peninsula on the Hispaniola island in the Caribbean . Politically, the peninsula belongs to Haiti and includes the entire Grand'Anse , Nippes and Sud departments as well as the western areas of the Ouest and Sud-Est departments .
The eastern part of the peninsula was the region hardest hit by the 2010 Haiti earthquake .

The Tiburon Peninsula forms the extreme southwest of Hispaniola and protrudes up to 250 km into the Caribbean Sea ; it separates the Gulf of Gonâve from the Caribbean Sea. The peninsula measures 60 kilometers at its widest point and almost 30 kilometers at its narrowest point. It has an area of around 9000 km² and thus takes up a third of the national area of Haiti. The highest point at 2347 m is the Pic Macaya in the Massif de la Hotte in the west of the peninsula; The largest city is Les Cayes on the south coast with around 60,000 inhabitants (as of 2005).
