The Gulf of Gonâve is an approximately 100 km wide bay in the Caribbean on the west coast of Haiti . The capital Port-au-Prince and the port cities of Gonaïves and Saint-Marc lie on its coast . An island, the Île de la Gonâve , divides the bay into the southern part, the Canal de la Gonâve , and the Canal de Saint-Marc in the north.
