from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Smolensk porpoises belongs to the large group of Russian Tümmlertauben , the out formed mainly in Russia breeds of porpoises and high fliers . Originally the Smolensk bottlenose dolphins were spirited flying pigeons from the central Russian city of Smolensk . Today, however, they are pronounced exhibition pigeons and come in all colors. Yellow and golden yellow are widespread.

Smolensk are medium-sized pigeons with a slightly cube-shaped head and a steep and wide forehead. Most pigeons wear a low, wide and gapless canopy , the smooth-headed ones used to be mainly used for flight and are now rare. The large eyes are pearly colored, the rims of the eyes wide, delicate and light yellow. The beak is directed a little downwards, light, short and thick. The small wart on the beak gets bigger with the age of the pigeons. Your neck is short and thick. The wings are long and are kept hanging slightly or lie next to the tail. The short legs of the pigeons are always smooth-footed (= without feathers).
