The Astro Cliffs are 60 m high cliffs on the Oskar II coast of Graham Land in the north of the Antarctic Peninsula . As the southeastern extension of the Churchill Peninsula, they rise up 10 km northeast of Cape Alexander .
In 1955, the cliffs were the southernmost object to be surveyed by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) that year. The designation by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1958 is based on the fact that the FIDS set an astronomical benchmark for the survey work from the top of the cliffs.
