So much secrecy in the Christmas season is a German Christmas carol that the music teacher Lotte Schuffenhauer († 1981) wrote and composed before 1952. It first became known to a wider audience in 1969 in the DEFA children's film Santa Claus is called Willi .

In 1970 the song was published in the version of the Rundfunk-Kinderchor Berlin on the Christmas LP Soon now is Christmas time of the GDR label Eterna . In addition, it was part of the school curriculum for music lessons in the GDR and was included in various music textbooks and song books.

The song is about curious secrets during the Christmas season. So from a child who is written in first person perspective, the dolls and the bear have disappeared. Hansel, however, misses his train, which is no longer in the same place. At the end it is described that it smells delicious in the kitchen, just like in a confectioner's.
