Sobekemhat was a under Sesostris III. acting treasurer .

Sobekemhat is so far only known from his mastaba , which was found in 1894 during excavations under the direction of Jacques de Morgan in Dahshur , next to the pyramid of Sesostris III. found. The building was already badly damaged and de Morgan was initially unable to identify the name of the owner, which was only possible later. Sobekemhat was identified as a vizier. The mastaba of Sobekemhat was a massive building made of adobe bricks that was clad with limestone on the outside . This disguise once bore representations and the title of the vizier, but was poorly preserved when it was found. Sobekemhat bears the title treasurer on a sacrificial tablet . Recent excavations have shown that the reliefs with the vizier titles come from the neighboring mastaba of the Nebit. So Sobekemhat was only treasurer.
