Société Franklin
The Société Franklin ( Franklin Society ), named after Benjamin Franklin , was founded in France in 1862 to distribute popular libraries (French bibliothèques populaires ). Its statutes were approved by the Minister of the Interior on April 19, 1864 and August 14, 1866. This society has made a great contribution to the expansion of popular libraries and the establishment of a large number of military libraries .
