Base profile with drip edge, material aluminum

The base profile , also known as the base end profile , is used for facade insulation with thermal insulation composite systems.

The base profile is used for the flush, clean formation of the lower system closure of thermal insulation composite systems and is usually attached over the base insulation . The first row of insulation panels for facade insulation is placed on the base profile .

The material of the insulation boards is not subject to any restrictions; both polystyrene foam panels and mineral insulation panels made of rock wool or glass wool can be used.

Base profiles consist mainly of aluminum and are usually 2–2.5 m long. To thermal bridges to reduce base rails can be used in plastic alternative.

Further design models are base profiles with a mesh attachment, the mesh attachment serving to bond with the reinforcement mesh.

Professional base profiles have an integrated drip edge. It serves to absorb and remove moisture.
