Soko Crew is a hip-hop crew from Hamburg founded in 2002 .
The name
The initials of the two founders Stilo One and Käptn Odsche form the word Soko. According to the band's philosophy, the name can also be interpreted as an abbreviation for special commission, which, according to the members, has the task of saving rap.
Band history
Before the Soko Crew was formed , all members were either busy for a long time with solo projects or in other formations. Through many recordings in the home studio , freestyle sessions at hip-hop events and performances, experience was gained and the quality of the texts and beats improved.
The old friends Stilo (Stefan Orth) and Odsche (Ole Pries) met again in Hamburg in 2001 after a long time. Not only did they get along well musically, and so the first recordings were made in Stilo's civil apartment. The Soko Crew was founded. After the album "Mit dem Knüppel ins Gedächtnis" was finished, the producer Tom Bertholdt was brought on board to support the crew with instrumentals for the album "Rhythm of the City" and other future projects. As a trained sound engineer , Stilo One was still responsible for the majority of the beats and the mastering . Over time, Odsche's friends from earlier times joined them, the rapper Macknum (Simon Hollmann) and DJ ESure (Igor Vassiliev). The album "Vom Regen in die Schnauze" was born.
