tasks

The photovoltaic capacity currently installed in Berlin is 110 megawatts. According to a study by the University of Technology and Economics , Berlin has at least 50 times the technical potential to install photovoltaics in existing buildings.

According to the sponsor, the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Enterprises, the tasks of the SolarZentrum therefore include:

  • Advice on solar energy including on-site visits, assistance in evaluating offers and developing operator and tenant electricity models
  • Information offers for craft companies, architecture and engineering offices
  • Presentation of best practice examples
  • Development of qualification offers
  • Development of non-discriminatory lists of craftsmen

The practical basic advice is free for Berliners and offers an overview of the expansion and financing options for solar energy systems.

As part of the Solarcity master plan, the SolarZentrum is embedded in the Berlin Energy and Climate Protection Program (BEK).

Tenants, apartment and house owners are among the target groups of the SolarZentrum as well as architects, craftsmen, housing associations, trade and industry.
