Solar UV monitoring network

The German solar UV monitoring network (sUVMoNet) is a network of ten measurement stations with the aim of recording solar UV radiation across Germany. The measuring network center is located in Neuherberg near Munich and is responsible for quality assurance. The measuring network was set up in 1993 by the Federal Office for Radiation Protection and the Federal Environment Agency .

The UV radiation from the sun that can be detected on the ground is measured and published in a wave range from 290 to 450 nm . Similar to a weather report, a three-day forecast of the UV radiation exposure is created.
