The Emicela solar power plant is located on the Canary Island of Gran Canaria in the industrial area of the city of Agüimes .
The system built on the roof of the Emicela coffee roastery with 7,600 solar modules and assuming standard test conditions has around 1.75 MW p and was connected to the grid in 2011. It is the largest rooftop installation on the island. The plant was built by the German Conergy AG. The investor in the 14,000 m² roof-top PV system is the Spanish savings bank Bankia . The system was installed within two months. A total of 72 Conergy inverters from the IPG series feed the electricity into the local power grid .
