The magazine Soldatentum (magazine for military psychology , military education , Führerauslese (people selection)) was a military specialist magazine that appeared between 1934 and 1942 in German-speaking countries. It contained military and defense psychological essays and racial ideological ideas which corresponded to National Socialism . The topics of the essays were the lives of historical personalities, especially high-ranking generals , personality psychological theories, methods of Wehrmacht psychological aptitude tests and of course the soldiery.

The magazine was founded and published by Colonel Hans von Voss and the Oberregierungsrat Dr. Max Simoneit , who was the head of the Wehrmacht Psychology.

Attempts to redo

After the publication of the magazine had been stopped, Simoneit tried to get it published again. Despite numerous rejections, Simoneit conducted correspondence in 1955 and 1956 to recruit employees for the newly founded military psychology and the magazine Soldatentum . The Federal Ministry of Defense supported Simoneit's plans to reissue it, but it was no longer reissued after the war.
