Solid state (electronics)

With solid state ( English for solid state or solid aggregate state ) is referred to in the electronic components or devices, in which instead of electron tubes or mechanical parts of semiconductor devices are used, with the aid of solid state physics have been developed.

Examples

  • When the first fully transistorized radio receivers came on the market, which no longer contained tubes that were sensitive to vibration and breakage, they were given the attribute solid state .
