Sollerön is the largest island in Lake Siljan in the Swedish province of Dalarna County and the historical province of Dalarna . It belongs to the municipality of Mora . The island is 7.7 km long and 4 km wide. The area is 20.5 km² and the highest point is no higher than 40 m. The island has 1215 inhabitants ( as of 2003 ). The main place on the island is the eponymous crime scene Sollerön .
The island is connected to the mainland by two bridges. The earliest traces indicate a settlement since the Iron Age .
