Son Boricua is a seven-piece salsa band from New York City .

Career

Son Boricua was founded in 1998 by singer Jimmy Sabater and bongo player José Mangual. The band became known for their characteristic vibraphone sound. Her repertoire consists mainly of cover versions of well-known salsa and mambo classics. They represent the musical style of the Salsa Dura. Her hits include songs like “A Las Seis” and “Mama Guela”.
