Meyn special ammunition depot

The Meyn special ammunition depot was a nuclear weapons depot near Meyn about 13 km west-southwest of the city of Flensburg . It was in operation from around 1973 to around 1992. Nuclear warheads were stored for the rocket artillery battalion 650 , which was located in the Briesen barracks in Flensburg-Weiche and cooperated with the 294th United States Army Artillery Group (294th USAAG). The systems included the W52 nuclear warhead for the MGM-29 Sergeant and from 1977 the W70 nuclear warhead for the MGM-52 Lance . During the operation there were blockades by the peace movement.
