Special ammunition depot Werl

The Werl special ammunition dump was located north of Werl . From 1960 to 1992 it was a central nuclear weapons storage facility for the Belgian army.

The following warheads were stored:

  • 1960–1992: Self-propelled howitzer 203 mm: Warhead W33 (0.5–40 KT)
  • 1972–1992: Self-propelled howitzer 203 mm: W79 warhead (0.1–1.1 KT)
  • 1978–1992: Lance short-range missile: W70 warhead (0.75–100 KT)
