Probing
The term probing , derived from the tool probe , generally stands for investigations to assess and estimate certain conditions, more specifically:
- in medicine: the use z. E.g. a nasogastric tube for possible examinations
- in (mountain) rescue: probing (mountain rescue) , the search for buried victims by search teams, also with avalanche probes
- In construction (foundation engineering): Various methods for obtaining soil samples and examining the soil structure to assess e.g. E.g. the storage density and consistency of a subsurface, for example ram core sounding , ramming sounding , pressure sounding , standard penetration test , borehole drilling
- in politics and society: exploratory talks for the informal rapprochement between two possible discussion partners or coalition partners, see also coalition (politics)
- in archeology: prospecting (archeology) (see also probe )
- in geology, geothermal energy: prospection (geology) ; also: drilling for the use of geothermal probes
- in computer science: function in connection with hash tables
