SongPop is a music trivia game. The free app was released in May 2012 by FreshPlanet, a startup from New York. It is available for iPhone , iPad , Android and Facebook . The app had been downloaded 100 million times by 2015. In July 2015, SongPop 2 was released with over 100,000 songs and 1,000 curated playlists. SongPop 2 is free to play and includes in-app purchases.

Style of play

The game is played similarly to the popular TV show Name That Tune . After selecting a playlist, five songs will be played. The players compete against each other to be the first to choose the right song title or artist from a selection of four. For the first time in SongPop 2 , users can compete alone against a computer-controlled opponent.
