Sonja Kaiblinger
Sonja Kaiblinger (born September 22, 1985 in Krems ) is an Austrian author for children and young people . For her work “Scary Harry - abandoned by all good spirits” she received the “Readers Votes Prize of Young Readers” from the Austrian Library Association in 2015.
Live and act
Kaiblinger studied, among other things, tourism and leisure management at the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems , before she held various jobs, including museum guide, night watchman, actress, copywriter and ice cream seller. Eventually she worked as a teacher in a tourism school while she was writing her first manuscripts. She has been successfully publishing children's and young people's novels at Loewe Verlag since 2012 . Her series "Scary Harry - abandoned by all good spirits" has been translated into eight languages so far. She is currently working on other books for children and young people, and she also organizes readings and reading workshops in Austria and Germany. In 2014 she received the “Leipzig Reading Compass” award for the novel “Scary Harry - abandoned by all good spirits” at the Leipzig Book Fair . In 2015, the same work was followed by the Readers' Voices Prize of the Young Readers of the Austrian Library Association . In 2020 she received the Leipzig Reading Compass in the category 6-10 years for the children's book Vincent flattert ins Abenteuer .
She lives in Vienna.
