Sun observation tower of the Meudon Observatory

The Meudon solar observation tower is a 36.47 meter high reinforced concrete tower on the area of the Meudon observatory , which contains a spectrograph for the investigation of sunlight. The Meudon solar observation tower, built in 1964/65, has a shaft diameter of 6.6 meters. At a height of 30.57 meters, it carries an observation floor with a diameter of 18.4 meters.

Since the telescope installed in the tower should not show any fluctuations even in strong winds, the tower consists of two nested concentric reinforced concrete tubes separated by a ten centimeter wide air gap.
