She achieved worldwide fame in 1986 with the song Girlie Girlie , which reached number one in the Jamaican charts and number 7 in Great Britain . In Germany, it positioned itself in the top 20.

Other hits that were only successful in Jamaica were Lazy Body , It Burn Mi Belly and Ain't No Meaning .

George married her manager Ronald Chung. They have eight children together, including football player Patrick Chung .
