Sorin Anca (born August 7, 1972 in Alba Iulia , Transylvania ) is a Romanian artist and writer of poetry .

Life

Sorin Anca was born in Transylvania in 1972 as the first son of a Romanian farming family. His father died when he was ten years old. Following in his father's footsteps, he initially worked as an agricultural machinery manufacturer, but found no satisfaction in it. As a “visionary of modern views” he lived art and technology so bizarre and exaggerated that he almost had to give up this path under pressure from his community and family. Two failed attempts to escape from Romania, which was then ruled by Nicolae Ceaușescu , followed, one of which ended in brief imprisonment.

In 1990 he finally moved to Germany. His first sculptures and sculptures were made in 2000. After he settled in Donauwörth in 2001, he created his most important works, Die Engel , from 2002 in a difficult phase in his life , which could be seen in the foyer of the Heidelberg town hall . In 2003 he founded the literary magazine Galateea .
