Assortment bookstore

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term assortment bookstore (short range ) describes a bookstore with the widest possible selection of titles. Assortment bookstores perform an advisory function and provide the customer with titles that are not in stock (procurement business). Such orders are placed either directly through the publisher or via bar assortments . The latter usually deliver overnight. The retail book trade is the publishers' most important sales partner with around 60% of sales.

Not to the bookstores belong railway station bookstores , antique shops , shipping bookstores or shops also selling only books mainly products of other industries (eg. As stationery).

In the German-speaking area, Thalia Bücher GmbH is the market leader in the retail book trade.
