Sorud-e Shahanshahi Iran ( Persian سرود شاهنشاهی ایران Soroud-e Shahanshahi Iran , Imperial anthem of Iran ') was from 1933 to 1979 the national anthem of Iran .

It celebrates the merits of the Shah and the Pahlavi dynasty , expresses the hope for the continued existence of the state and refers to the history of Iran. The hymn consists of three stanzas. The first stanza is dedicated to the Shah, the second to the flag and the third to the nation. The text was written by Mohamad Haschim Afsar and the melody was composed by Daud Najmi.

The anthem was replaced by Soroud-e Melli-ye Dschomhuri-ye Eslami-e Iran after the Islamic Revolution and the establishment of a republic .

Long live our King of Kings,
May the state endure forever through its "Farr",
Because the Pahlavis made the empire of Iran a
hundred times better than in ancient times,
Once because of the enemies in need,
under his protection Iran is now relieved ,
And the Iranians always happy,
God always be his protector.

O sun banner of Iran,
Cast a ray on the face of this world.
Remember that time when
the power of the sword pacified every land.
In your shadow we sacrifice life,
We take life from the enemy.
We are the heirs of the Keyan,
we always want to love the country with heart and soul.

We were and are keepers of justice,
we don't want anything in the world except justice .
With the worship of the Shah we keep the empire
safe from the hands of the enemy.
We live true to our old principle:
Good in thoughts,
words and works,
through which Iran achieved its greatness.
