Pahlavi (dynasty)
The Pahlavi dynasty ( Persian دودمان پهلوی; Dūdmān-e Pahlavī) was the last ruling dynasty of the Persian Shahs .
The Pahlavi came in 1925 as a successor to the Qajar to power. These had been removed after a parliamentary resolution on October 31, 1925. On December 12, 1925, Parliament decided to elevate Reza Chans to Shah. He was subsequently called Reza Shah Pahlavi.
The rulers of the dynasty were:
- 1925–1941 Reza Shah Pahlavi (1878–1944)
- 1941–1979 Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi (1919–1980)
- 1967–1979 Farah Pahlavi (* 1938)
The last heir to the throne was Cyrus Reza Pahlavi (* 1960).
