Sosei ( Japanese 素性 , also 素性 法師 , Sosei Hōshi , dt. "Monk Sosei"; * before 850 ( traditional : Kashō 3); † after 909 (traditional: Engi 9)) was a Waka poet and Buddhist monk. He is one of the 36 immortals in poetry . One of his waka is contained in the important Japanese anthology of poetry, Hyakunin Isshu . His father Henjō was also a waka poet and monk.

Sosei's worldly name is debatable. Yoshimine no Harutoshi ( 良 岑玄利 ) is given as a possible name .
