Soul Survivor is a synthpop song by CC Catch , written and produced by Dieter Bohlen . It was released on September 21, 1987 by Hansa Records and was her greatest success, especially in southern Europe.
Creation and publication
The song was released as the second single from CC Catch's third studio album. On the B-side is the title Midnight Gambler. One month before the album was released, Soul Survivor entered the German charts. Already at the beginning of 1987 CC Catch reached the top 20 in Germany with Are you man enough .
reception
Soul Survivor became a great success for Dieter Bohlen and CC Catch across Europe. The song reached number one in Spain and number three in the Yugoslav charts. In Greece, the single was in the top 20. In addition, Soul Survivor was one of the few productions by Dieter Bohlen that made it into the British charts. In Germany the song missed the top ten and made it to number 17, but stayed in the charts for a total of 13 weeks. In the ZDF hit parade reached Soul Survivor second place.
Cover versions
As part of the Modern Talking comeback at the end of the 1990s, the Bohlen songs for CC Catch were reissued. In Spain the new version of Soul Survivor feat. Krayzee again in the top ten. In Germany, the song was only released as part of the 1998 Megamix.
