Sound & Recording is a music magazine founded in 2006, which is published monthly by MM-Musik-Media-Verlag in the Cologne branch and reports on topics related to music composition and editing.

The magazine provides an overview of relevant aspects of the recording world in several sections : background reports on major music productions, interviews with well-known producers, tests of new equipment and new software, as well as tips and tricks for modern music production. The specialist magazine is aimed at amateur musicians and recording professionals. It can also be subscribed to via an app, which has numerous music examples in each issue.

The magazine was created in 2006 as part of a reorganization of the publishing house, to which the Production Partner also belonged. The slump in advertising revenue across the industry made a stronger focus necessary.

Editor-in-chief of Sound & Recording since it was founded in March 2006 has been Jörg Sunderkötter, and Marc Bohn has been his successor since 2016.
