The basement of Tubrid Beg ( Irish Tiobraid Bheag ) is in the west of a Raths near Abbeydorney, north of Tralee in County Kerry in Ireland . In the case of basements , a distinction is made between “earth-cut”, “rock-cut”, “mixed”, “stone built” and “wooden” (e.g. Coolcran, County Fermanagh ). The basement of Tubrid Beg is a well-preserved “stone built” basement.

The central chamber with a cantilever vault is about 3.0 m high and 3.0 m in diameter. The drywall is in good condition. Two corridors run east and south. The eastern one is about 11.0 m long and collapsed at the other end. It blocks access to another chamber or the original access. The south corridor is about 7 m long and also blocked.

An ogham stone lies as a lintel over a passage leading east from the chamber. The Oghamin script in question is very weak.
