Soviet badminton championship 1963

The 1963 Soviet Badminton Championship took place in Moscow . It was the first time that the USSR's national badminton championships were held . The championship was held in the CSKA sports hall on Komsomolsk Prospect in September 1963. Valentina Korovkina and Juri Yermolayev won silver in the individual disciplines .

Attendees

96 men and 32 women from 30 cities from 11 Soviet republics started. Athletes from Moscow, the Moscow Region, Leningrad, Kharkov, Lvov, Kuibyshev, Kiev, Dnepropetrovsk, Dushanbe, Alma Ata, Voronezh, Sverdlovsk, Riga, Panevėžys, Kishinev, Baku, Gorki, Krasnoyarsk took part in the championship. Most of the participants were from Moscow (28 athletes), Leningrad (11 athletes), from other cities of the RSFSR (20 athletes) and from Ukraine (20 athletes). The rest of the Soviet republics were represented by 49 athletes.
