Cenotaph (2018)

The Soviet war cemetery Reitwein was laid out in the former park next to the Reitwein Castle after the Second World War . The war cemetery is located in the middle of the village, facing the forest. With the help of local residents, all known grave sites with dead of the Red Army were reburied in this collective grave. The grave complex includes around 3,000 dead. But only some of the dead are known by name and named on the tombstones.

The Soviet war dead buried here was commemorated every February during the GDR era with delegations from Reitwein, Reitwein students from the Polytechnic Oberschule Podelzig and the nearby Red Army garrison in Küstrin .

In 2008 the facility was restored with funds from the Russian embassy.
