The Socialist Politics (SoPo) was a left-wing socialist magazine that appeared monthly between 1954 and 1966 in Bovenden near Göttingen .
The SoPo was from the entristisch within the SPD working Trotskyist organization IKD initiated and went out of since 1949 published magazine for and against out. The magazine was aimed primarily and thematically at left social democrats and critical trade union activists. The first two editions were entitled Socialist . Authors were u. a. Erich Gerlach , Peter von Oertzen , Georg Jungclas , Theo Pirker , Willy Boepple , Siegfried Braun , Ernest Mandel , Jürgen Seifert and Jakob Moneta . Wolfgang Abendroth wrote for the magazine under a pseudonym . The editorial team criticized the SPD from the left, advocating the neutrality of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Algerian liberation struggle. In December 1966 the SoPo was discontinued in favor of express international .
