Social Liberal Party (Germany)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Social Liberal Party (SLP) was a small political party in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It was founded in February 1999 by former SPD members in protest against the red-red coalition in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Federal chairman was Bruno Schuckmann , who was defeated in 1998 in the primary election for SPD prime minister candidate Harald Ringstorff . The state chairman was Lars Schubert . The party saw itself programmatically between the SPD and FDP and as a strategic partner of the CDU . The SLP had around 200–250 members.

In the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on September 22, 2002 , the SLP received 0.1% of the vote. As a result, the party stopped work. Schuckmann later joined the FDP.
