Social therapeutic institution Hamburg-Bergedorf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The social therapeutic institute Hamburg-Bergedorf was founded in 1969 as the first independent social therapeutic institute in Germany. Prisoners were mainly admitted for whom therapeutic treatment was considered useful. The focus was on the treatment of sex offenders. When the new regulation of Section 9 StVollzG 1998 came into force, there were 31 corresponding detention places. In 2004, the institution in its former form was closed by the then Justice Senator Roger Kusch against the protests of the professional world. Today the building is a branch office Bergedorf the social therapeutic institution Hamburg used.
