The SpVgg Dillweißstein is a German sports club founded in 1923 with headquarters in Dillweißstein , a district of the independent city of Pforzheim in Baden-Württemberg .

history

Predecessor clubs

In 1909, the first football club was founded under the name FC Germania Dill-Weißenstein in what was then the Weißenstein district. In the following year, 1910, the Dillstein football club was also founded . Both clubs competed in the C-class at that time. With the beginning of the First World War , however, the number of available players decimated increasingly, but until at least December 1916, gaming operations could still be maintained. After the end of the war it was difficult to start playing again. Due to this, among other things, the strength sports club, the football club and the gymnastics club in 1876 from Dillstein merged on May 5, 1919 to form the gymnastics and sports club Dillweißstein . On February 17, 1923, the separation of the clubs was announced again. In 1924, FC Germania and the Dillstein football club merged to form today's game association.

Early years to the post-war period

Nothing is known about the club's gaming operations in the inter-war period, let alone about the division into which it belonged. After the National Socialists came to power , at least the title of district champion 1935/36 is still in evidence. After the outbreak of World War II, the team then took part in the Pforzheim city championship in 1939. Over the next few years, however, fewer and fewer players were available again. After the end of the war, the club was able to play its first game on August 19, 1945. The game operation in the championship then began on December 2, 1945 for the team in Enzkreis Group 2 . In 1946, the team was then in the A-class champions and was allowed to move up to the then second-class Landesliga Nordbaden through successful participation in the promotion games . In the 1947/48 season , the club then joined the group south. At the end of the season the team finished 12th with 10:42 points. Because the next season was only played on a single track, the game association and 13 other clubs had to relegate at the end of the season. From then on the club played in the district class III season 2 . From 1951 the club played in the newly introduced 2nd amateur league Mittelbaden . The team then had to say goodbye to this division in 1958. From the 1959 season, the team played in the A-class, but immediately after this season, the team had to relegate to the B-class.

1960s to 1990s

The time in the B-Class should last six seasons. In 1965, the team was finally with 79:15 goals and 36: 4 points champion of the B-class group south and was thus allowed to climb back into the A-class , with 10th place, the league could be achieved. In 1977 the team qualified for fourth place in the table for the district league, which was newly introduced for the next season . After only one year of membership in the league, the team then rose again to the A-class after a play-off. In the 1980/81 season, the championship in the A-class was again achieved with a nine-point lead, and thus promotion to the district league . In this class, the team was able to hold out until the 1995/96 season, after which the club rose again.

Status as elevator team to this day

This time in the meanwhile district league A class. After a devastatingly bad season with only 11 points and 25: 157, the team even had to relegate back to the district B after the 1998/99 season . After the 1999/2000 season the team went well once again in the Kreisliga A on. Here, the association was able to turn hold until the 2003/04 season, after which he finally again in the Kreisliga B should descend. The rise again succeeded only after the 2007/08 season, after which the team was able to achieve the championship with 62 points. The district class A could then be held with 31 points and the 11th place in the following season. The 2009/10 season ended the team with 11 points only in 14th place, which corresponded to a gap of 15 points on the club in front. But since there was only one relegated team and with 3 points he even had significantly fewer points than the SpVgg, the team was able to keep the league. After the 2010/11 season the team finally rose but then with 13 points on the 16th place and last place again in the circle class B from. This time, however, the promotion should be achieved again after the 2012/13 season. In which the team was able to finish in second place with 53 points. In the first season in the district class A, the team rose again with only 11 points over the last place but also immediately. The club still plays in this league today.
