Clasp (heraldry)
The clasp , fibula or belt buckle is a common figure in heraldry and a rare coat of arms. In the coat of arms the clasp is shown either round or square. The clasp needle can point to the right or left and must be described accordingly . The square shape is primarily placed on a buckle corner. The primer is based on and strongly stylized . The term rinken is representative of the term fibula .
The term clasp has a different meaning in the older heraldic literature. The term is used for the eight-armed lily cross .
