Simon Kernick

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Simon Kernick (born January 25, 1966 in Slough , England ) is a British crime novelist.

In the mid-1980s he graduated from high school and then worked in road construction, as a barman, as a harvest helper and warehouse worker. He spent several years touring Canada, Australia and the United States of America. After returning to England, he graduated from the University of Brighton with a degree in humanities in 1991.

To escape the subsequent unemployment, he took a job as a computer software salesman.

He also wrote two novels, but they always met with rejection.

It was not until 2002 that a publisher printed the novel The Business Of Dying ( days of wrath ), thus preparing Kernick for the start of his bestselling writing career. A novel from his pen has been published annually since 2002.

Kernick attaches particular importance to the fact that he is researching real police officers from a special unit, but that they do not have any of the negative characteristics of his novel heroes.

The German translations are published by Heyne- Verlag, which is clearly interested in adopting the original design of the cover.

Simon Kernick lives and works in Oxfordshire, England .
