Spartan Motors
Spartan Motors, Inc. is a US vehicle manufacturer based in Charlotte, Michigan . In addition to fire engines, the products also include chassis for school buses , mobile homes and special vehicles; also military vehicles and parcel transporters. The company, founded in 1975, began manufacturing chassis for fire fighting vehicles. In 1985 the production of mobile home chassis was added and in 2005 the final assembly of military vehicles. In 2016 Spartan Motors had around 2,200 employees and sales of around 591,000,000 US dollars .
In February 2020, Spartan Motors sold its fire fighting vehicle division Spartan Emergency Response Vehicles (with the Smeal Fire Apparatus Company acquired in 2017 ) to the REV Group .
