Speiermann, Weigel & Co. was a bicycle manufacturer and wholesaler for bicycles and motorcycles and related accessories and spare parts in Chemnitz .

history

The company was founded in 1910 as a wholesaler of bicycles, sewing machines and spare parts in Chemnitz as "Speiermann & Weigel". It was later renamed “Speiermann, Weigel & Co.”.

In 1924 the Esweco brand was registered as a trademark, under which a wide range of products including bicycles, motorcycles, batteries and spare parts were sold.

Furthermore, bicycles were assembled from purchased parts and sold under various brand names such as Esweco, Escona and Esco.

In 1950 the company was deleted from the commercial register.
