Spelunkenturm (2018)

The Spelunkenturm is a lookout tower on the Bomberg in Bad Pyrmont . It was built in 1896 by the Pyrmonter Spelunkengesellschaft , is 25 meters high and is a steel framework construction. It stands at a height of 320  m . It was inaugurated on September 2, 1896 by Friedrich Gösling , who was then the first chairman of the Spelunken Society.

The Spelunkenturm was renovated in 1992/93. Due to another extensive renovation, it has not been accessible for an indefinite period since autumn 2018. The viewing platform was dismantled in June 2019 and reattached to the tower a year later. However, due to uncertainties regarding the stability, it is still not possible to climb the tower (as of June 2020). The hiking trails to the tower are cordoned off.
