One of the most famous steel lattice towers is the Eiffel Tower

A steel lattice tower is a tower whose load-bearing element is a framework made of riveted , screwed or welded iron and steel parts. Here screwed structures are used for overhead line masts , while large steel lattice towers, such as the Eiffel Tower, are riveted or - like the Kiev television tower  - welded. The construction method has been practiced since the 19th century , the most famous building being the Eiffel Tower . Today they are generally used as an observation tower , high-voltage pylon , television tower or transmission tower .
