The Odinstårnet (from Odin and Danish tårn , "tower") was a 177 meter high observation tower in Odense on Funen in Denmark . The steel lattice tower was the highest tower in Northern Europe and after the Eiffel Tower the second highest tower with a viewing platform in Europe.

The Odinstårnet was designed by the engineer Theobald Weber . Construction began in 1934 and ended on May 15, 1935 . It consisted of 30 tons of steel and 2,700 tons of concrete. Odinstårnet was inaugurated on May 30, 1935 and became a tourist destination.

On December 14, 1944 , the tower was blown up in a sabotage by the Petergruppe ( collaborators of the German occupation forces under Henning E. Brøndum ).
